What an Evil Woman.

Ruby Franke was a Tic Tok contributor who posted a lot of advice about raising children.

Somewhere along the way, she was influenced by Jodi Hildebrand and her Church of Latter Day Saints, convinced her children deserved to be punished, shackled and starved and deprived of water. The treatment of those children will likely cause lifelong therapy to be a necessary element of the rest of their lives.

I’ve heard of Ms. Hildebrand as an author. I have never read any of her books nor do I intend to.

When people are so influenced in the name of religion, I have a great deal of concern for extremists hiding amongst them. Corporal punishment to rid your child of the devil is ridiculous.

As children, we were exposed to gory details learning about saints who were martyrs for their Catholic faith. We were told at Confirmation we should be ready to do the same. This was frightening for us, barely in the fourth grade, 10 or 11 years old.

With the unrest in our world at the time, namely the Cuban Missle Crisis, we worried more than we should have. I wish we wouldn’t have experienced that.

There are almost lunatic fringe groups who influence people to the point of no return. They are dangerous. They are most effective recruiting people who have no hope in the world and are lost, searching for somewhere to belong.

The ABC program Friday, March 22, 2024 had an excellent presentation of the story and legal case against these two women. When being interviewed , the DA, the police officers and investigators were moved to tears. When children are starved, chained together, and concentration camp thin, something is terribly wrong. As a society we need to protect our innocents. Don’t look the other way.

We need to be aware when moving through the day. If someone reaches out as that little 12 year old boy did to his neighbor, we need to boldly act. We need to protect our innocent. Nothing is more important than this.

I am grateful for you reading today. It should be another rainy day. The lawn is greening up nicely as Spring suggests its arrival. Enjoy your Sunday, and see you tomorrow!
